Sarah Hendren, MS, RDN is a dietitian with a breadth of experience in food and nutrition communications and sustainability. She supports Wild Hive clients providing strategic guidance on science-based messaging, claims, food policy, and navigating the overlapping interests of nutrition and sustainability.
Sarah began her career as the first dietitian for Culver’s, a quick service restaurant known for burgers and fresh frozen custard. She was responsible for leading nutrition and quality assurance, providing regulatory guidance, and was the driving force behind the brand’s commitment to simplify ingredients and validate sustainability messaging. Sarah has been an active leader in the sustainability and animal welfare space, speaking at national events including the US Farmers and Ranchers Alliance, the World Dairy Expo and participating in multi-stakeholder initiatives including the Innovation Center for US Dairy and U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef. Sarah is actively engaged in her professional community and is seen as an effective leader and communicator with a strategic vision. She currently holds a position on the Academy’s Committee for Lifelong Learning and has held numerous executive committee positions with the Dietitians in Business & Communications Practice Group. Sarah has been recognized by her peers for her outstanding leadership, service and strategic vision. She was the 2021 recipient of the Outstanding Preceptor Award, the 2019 recipient of the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year Award, and the recipient of the 2020 Founder’s Award and 2019 Circle Award from the Dietitians in Business & Communications Practice Group.
